SNORRI 4D - Catch Me If You Candy follows Rulantica's Sixtopus mascot on an undersea adventure

Mack Animation, a leading animation studio and film production company, is celebrating the debut of SNORRI 4D - Catch Me If You Candy at Europa-Park's Magic Cinema 4D at the beginning of the 2026 season.

The new ten-minute 4D short film, produced by Mack Magic, brings the park's water world to the cinema screen for the first time and puts Rulantica's blue Sixtopus, Snorri, front and centre.

Snorri, who can't resist anything sweet, targets the finest lollipop in the seven seas. He's stopped by Bubba, a street-smart crustacean who becomes his new sidekick.

Blue creature, Snorri, examines candy machine in a vibrant, colorfulunderwater market scene. In the 4D film Snorri has his sights set on the best lollipop in the seven seas, and a chase ensues

What ensues is a chase across Rulantica, both above and below water, passing grumpy stone trolls and crossing into the domain of Svlagur, the giant sea serpent protecting its territory.

Featuring immersive 4D effects throughout, the film is designed to be felt as well as watched and is suitable for the whole family.

An immersive 4D experience

Michael Mack, the managing partner of Europa-Park and founder of Mack Magic, produced the film. Thierry Marchand directed it.

Marchand is a director and creative director for television and film, known for work that creates narrative tension lingering with audiences long after the credits. His graduation short from Gobelins, "Oktapodi," received an Oscar nomination in 2009.

Since then, he has served as a series director on many TV shows and as a creative director for clients such as Netflix, DreamWorks, Framestore, Mediawan, and Teamto, developing new intellectual properties from scratch.

Snorri 4D is his first project with Europa-Park.

Hendrik Schwarzer created the film's score, which was recorded at Teldex Studios in Berlin.

The production took place at Mack Animation's studio in Hannover, the same studio that worked on Grand Prix of Europe, a 90-minute feature featuring Europa-Park's mascots Ed and Edda. This film was developed with Warner Bros. Germany and had a worldwide cinema release in summer 2025.

The story of Rulantica

Rulantica, the water world at Europa-Park Resort that covers 14 themed indoor and outdoor zones with over 50 slides and attractions, has been home to Snorri since the park's opening in 2019.

From the start, Rulantica was designed as a comprehensive story universe: a series of novels and picture books developed with Coppenrath Verlag has sold over 400,000 copies globally, along with audio dramas and other merchandise.

Although Bubba appears on screen for the first time, the character is already familiar to the park’s visitors, having appeared throughout the water park and Hotel Kronasar.

At Mack Animation, 4D films serve as an opportunity to play. They allow the creative team to explore new ideas, test innovative technology, and experiment with diverse visual styles without the limitations of a lengthy production process.

Snorri 4D embodies this spirit and is one of the studio's most experimental projects so far.

Mack Magic considers Snorri 4D as a preliminary step toward developing a full-length film centred on Rulantica and Snorri for global cinemas. Additionally, the 4D short is available for licensing to other parks. The goal is for audiences worldwide to have the opportunity to meet Snorri and Bubba.

Last year, Mack Animation shared details of its contribution to the new GRAND PRIX Edventure interactive 3D dark ride at Europa-Park in Germany.
