Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Adventureland in Genting Highlands (Resorts World Genting) has reopened in time for Lunar New Year following a major revamp.

The attraction at Sky Avenue, Genting, Malaysia has been closed for nine months while extensive renovations were carried out.

The collection of 400+ exhibits feature some of Ripley’s very latest ‘must-see’ eye-openers. These include the New York City Freedom Tower made from over 470,000 matchsticks and Willard Wigan’s Micro-Miniatures.

Wigan’s sculptures are the smallest in the world and can only be viewed through a powerful microscope. The miniscule artworks, some of which are fitted into the eye of a needle or on the head of a nail, are almost invisible to the naked eye.

The Pumpkin Carriage Boat is another highlight. Constructed in 1994 to sail down the Grand Canal in Venice, it is a carved wooden version of Cinderella’s pumpkin carriage, complete with four horses.

Ripley’s Genting also home to Jurassic Research Centre and Zombie Outbreak

Ripley’s Believe It or Not! Adventureland is also home to the Jurassic Research Centre, a kid-friendly adventure in a prehistoric land full of dinosaurs. For visitors looking to up the thrill experience, there’s Zombie Outbreak, a terrifying live-action haunted attraction.

The renovation project was carried out in collaboration with Only World Group (OWG), one of Malaysia’s leading lifestyle and leisure operators.

“We’re very excited to continue our long-term franchise partnership with Only World Group,” stated Victor Danau, Director Asia Development & Operations at Ripley’s.

“Their new investment will be a staple for the next generation of Genting Highlands visitors. The new attraction incorporates our latest designs and has created an interactive experience that showcases some of the most unusual and unique artefacts in the vast Ripley’s collection.”

Genting Highlands is also home to the much-anticipated 20th Century Fox World theme park which is expected to open this year.

A global leader in location-based entertainment, Ripley Entertainment Inc. currently has 30 Believe It or Not! Odditoriums around the world.
