Link Developments has announced City Walk Abuja, a privately financed, landmark mixed-use smart city that will serve as a global gateway for investment, enterprise, culture, and innovation in Africa, as reported by Retail & Leisure International.
City Walk Abuja is strategically positioned on the main route connecting Abuja’s Central Business District to Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport.
Located within a government-designated Free Trade Zone, it is designed as a world-class hub where businesses, residents, and visitors can live, work, and connect in a sustainable, technology-driven urban setting.
Its Free Trade Zone status aims to foster an appealing setting for international investors, providing businesses with a globally competitive base to set up regional headquarters, grow operations, and promote innovation throughout West Africa.
Leisure, hospitality, and more
Covering more than 200 hectares, this master-planned development will combine commercial, residential, hospitality, leisure, cultural, and civic areas into a lively new city. It aims to promote Nigeria’s long-term economic growth and position Abuja as one of Africa’s top capitals.
City Walk Abuja will feature Africa’s tallest tower at 450m and an international arena seating over 16,000, forming two iconic landmarks that will serve as the heart of a new gateway district for the continent.
The development is centred around a natural ravine that acts as the project’s ecological backbone. It will include landscaped public areas, biodiversity corridors, sustainable water systems, smart infrastructure, and walkable neighbourhoods.
The masterplan by Benoy design studio features sustainability, public space, and human-centric planning, reflecting Abuja’s climate, culture, and growth.
Link Developments has engaged Broadgate Developments Group Ltd as the Development and Construction Management Advisor. Broadgate will offer strategic development leadership, technical oversight, and coordinated programme management during City Walk Abuja's delivery.
