Majid Al Futtaim has opened the new Explorers family entertainment centre (FEC) in Dubai's City Centre Mirdif shopping mall.

The new attraction is billed as Dubai's only large-scale indoor destination for kids that combines adventure play with expert-led interactive workshops under one roof.

"We are constantly looking for new ways to create meaningful experiences that bring families together," said Ignace Lahoud, CEO of Majid Al Futtaim's entertainment and lifestyle portfolio.

"Explorers at City Centre Mirdif reflects our commitment to developing innovative concepts that combine entertainment, learning, and creativity in a way that feels both engaging and enriching."

Designed for children aged between 1 and 12 years, Explorers provides adventure play experiences across three zones – Wildwood Treetops, Little Acorns, and River Play.

Wildwood Treetops is an abstract soft-play adventure with more than 20 interactive elements that encourage movement, climbing, exploration, and active challenges.

Little Acorns is a dedicated area for toddlers, with safe and age-appropriate play features designed to support early development.

Immersive, hands-on experiences

River Play is a sensory-rich environment where guests can experiment, explore and learn through interactive stations inspired by STEM principles.

As for the workshops, Mamalu Kitchen offers interactive cooking classes, while StuDIYo Lab introduces children to woodworking.

At Confidence Lab, guests can develop their communication and storytelling skills, while Picasso Artists allows children to experiment with fluid art, drip art and resin art.

In a pottery space, guests can paint ceramics while enjoying F&B.

"Today’s families are seeking experiences that go beyond traditional play, and Explorers has been designed to nurture curiosity, encourage imagination, and inspire discovery through immersive, hands-on experiences," Lahoud said.

"We are proud to introduce a destination where children can learn, create, and explore while making lasting memories with their loved ones.”
