Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks, a new $400 million family resort and entertainment district in Missouri, has started construction of its signature roller coaster.
Inspired by the twists and turns of the Lake of the Ozarks, Dragon Run is a family-friendly suspended coaster that races along nearly 1,500 feet of track at speeds of up to 42 mph.
Riders will plunge into a tunnel immediately after the lift hill, before travelling through a series of twists, curves and a second underground dive.

"The lake's distinctive shape has influenced the design of Oasis from the very beginning," said Todd Schneider, operating partner of Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks.
"We couldn't think of a better way to celebrate one of Missouri's most recognizable landmarks than by creating a signature coaster that captures its sweeping curves and adventurous spirit."
Designed as a family thrill ride, Dragon Run features a 42-inch minimum height requirement. "We wanted a coaster that families could enjoy side by side," Schneider said.
"Dragon Run delivers plenty of excitement while remaining accessible to multiple generations," he added.

Dragon Run is the second coaster to be installed at Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks, following the completion of the Shootout Boomerang coaster last month.
The park's first amusement ride, called The Plunge, was installed in May. The tower ride lift guests 100 feet into the air to experience sweeping views of the Lake of the Ozarks, before plunging them back down to the landing zone at thrilling speeds.
When complete, Oasis at Lake of the Ozarks will operate as a year-round entertainment destination with the theme park, the largest indoor water park in Missouri, multiple restaurants, a nearly 200-foot-tall observation wheel, and a 401-room Marriott hotel.
