Pico Play, a global leader in planning, designing, developing, and constructing world-class themed attractions and entertainment, has announced that its Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, office has entered a new chapter with the expansion and redevelopment of its dedicated design space, which launched on 17 December.

As the company expands its complex themed entertainment projects throughout Asia and the Middle East, the KL team needed a workspace that fosters growth and embodies Pico Play’s creative, technical, and collaborative ethos.

The new design space has been carefully developed to boost productivity, teamwork, and the creative process, providing a modern setting that motivates designers, illustrators, and project teams to achieve their best work.

A commitment to the region

The KL studio specialises in diverse themed entertainment design, including concept art, architectural theming, immersive set creation, attraction development, and digital illustration.

It employs roles such as concept artists, illustrators, 3D modellers, theming designers, project designers, and technical designers. The workspace is designed with open, adaptable zones that promote idea-sharing and collaboration across disciplines, complemented by breakout areas for sketching, review, and problem-solving.

Custom-designed workbenches, upgraded digital stations, and enhanced lighting foster an optimal environment for the team. Display walls highlight concept art, models, and mood boards, emphasising the studio’s global influence and the imaginative worlds it creates.

Pico Play’s creative director, Mark Eady, a founding member of the company who recently relocated to Kuala Lumpur, said the newly imagined office reflects the team’s ambition and long-term commitment to the region:

“The KL Office is no longer just a design hub. We now offer our clients all facets of our company services right here in the centre of Southeast Asia."
