Lappset, a leading provider of themed and branded activity attractions, has revealed that its Senior Sports concept has been included in the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing Progress Report.
A study using Lappset’s Senior Sports products has been included in the online case studies released as part of the UN Decade of Healthy Ageing (2021–2030) Progress Report, 2023. This is a key milestone in the firm’s efforts towards encouraging healthy and socially active ageing.
The Lappset Senior Sport concept has been developed by the firm’s committed team of physiotherapists, geriatric researchers, and industrial designers. This range of outdoor fitness equipment has been created for older people and offers a distinctive mix of scientific research and design expertise. This combination guarantees that each component is not only safe, durable, and accessible, but also ergonomically engineered.
ENJOY project
Associate Professor Pazit Levinger and her colleagues from the National Ageing Research Institute of Australia ran the Exercise interveNtion outdoor proJect in the cOmmunitY for older people, known as the ENJOY project, in 2021. The National Ageing Institute of Australia is an official partner of Lark Industries, an Australian Lappset channel partner.

The ENJOY project focused on examining the effects of increased physical activity among seniors and included a study which was undertaken using Lappset’s Senior Sports products. In this, participants aged 60 and up took part in a 12-week structured and supervised physical activity course using Lappset’s Senior Sports line.
Feedback from the ENJOY project was overwhelmingly positive with 98.6% of participants responding that they either agreed or strongly agreed to having enjoyed taking part. 94.7% enjoyed socialising as part of the project, and 98.7% felt safe during the sessions.
The study not only emphasises the benefits of greater physical activity for seniors but also demonstrates the efficiency of the firm’s specially built equipment in encouraging active ageing.
Lappset Creative has shared details of its project to create themed indoor play spaces with Balubaland at Jessheim Shopping Centre. This drew on best practices from Finnish education principles, which the firm applied in conjunction with a STEAM approach.
