Russian company Innova, currently working on aKidzania for Moscow, alsoplans toopen aDreamPlay attraction in the city. The $15 million project will be designed byDreamWorks Animation.
Speaking toKommersant, Mikhail Sverdlov, the Commercial Director of trade centre Aviapark said construction will start in January 2017. The plan is to open the attraction in the first quarter of 2018. It will be based in Aviapark, in the north of the city.
According to DreamPlay's spokesperson Xenia Korneev, Dreamplay's investors can expect an ROI in 5 years. The footprint of the attraction is4, 500 square meters.
DreamPlay in Manila and Hyderabad
This will be the world's secondDreamPlay. There isalso a DreamPlay within theUS$1.3 billion City of Dreams Manila resort in The Philppines. This was built in partnership with Dreamworks Animation and opened in early 2015. The resort is owned byMelco Crown Philippines.Moscow's attractionis hoping for up to450 thousandvisitors in its first year.
The new DreamPlay will have more of an emphasis on the children's sporting development than kidzaniasaid Korneev. She highlighed the fact that the attraction in The Philippinesincludes a a rope obstacle courseandadance floor.
Earlier this year The Times Of India reported that DreamWorks planned to builda "small-scale" theme parkattraction in Hyderabad. The city has a vibrant film industry and is also home to Ramoji Film City, the movie-themed amusement park and film studios. DreamWorks is also keen to expand its production facilities in India.
