Shura Island‘s resorts are designed to minimise environmental impact

Red Sea Global has unveiled Shura Island, the main hub island at The Red Sea, which will open its first resorts and attractions this month.

The first phase of Shura Island includes SLS, Edition, and InterContinental hotels, as well as Shura Links – Saudi Arabia‘s first island golf course.

SLS Red Sea features 150 luxurious rooms and villas, while The Red Sea Edition provides 240 rooms and suites, a world-class spa, and multiple dining destinations.

InterContinental The Red Sea Resort houses 178 rooms and 32 suites, five dining venues, a spa, and a design inspired by the surrounding coral reefs.

Eventually, Shura Island will offer 11 world-class resorts, all due to open over the next few months, as well as luxury amenities, high-end F&B outlets, retail experiences, and cultural programming.

Red Sea Global is the developer behind Saudi Arabia’s new regenerative tourism destinations – The Red Sea and Amaala.

Redefining tourism in Saudi Arabia

“As the heart of The Red Sea, Shura Island represents everything Red Sea Global stands for: bold ambition, deep respect for nature, and a commitment to redefining tourism in Saudi Arabia and beyond,” said John Pagano, group CEO of Red Sea Global.

“With the soft opening of Shura in the coming weeks, we move closer to achieving our mission to set new standards in regenerative tourism, while realizing Vision 2030.”

On track to open in the coming months are Shura Island’s eight remaining resorts – Faena, Fairmont, Four Seasons, Grand Hyatt, Jumeirah, Miraval, Raffles, and Rosewood.

The properties on Shura Island are designed to blend seamlessly with the pristine environment, and to minimise environmental impact.

The Red Sea welcomed its first guests in 2023, while Amaala is on track to open to visitors this year.

Red Sea Global is a Public Investment Fund (PIF) company, and a cornerstone of Saudi Arabia’s ambition to diversify its economy.
