Christie Boxers Project First 4K Live Stream from Space Station at NAB 2017

Leading AV solutions company, Christie Digital Systems Inc., projected the first 4K stream from the International Space Station live at the 2017 NAB Show.

NASA astronaut and Expedition Commander, Peggy Whitson and NASA astronaut, Jack Fischer, made their landmark broadcast from the International Space Station at 5.30pm GMT.

The presentation, powered by Christie Boxer projectors, was part of ‘Reaching for the Stars: Connecting to the Future with NASA and Hollywood’.

A world first, it was intended to demonstrate how 4K gives NASA scientists a clearer, crisper view of their experiments, Earth, and the solar system. In addition, the scientists can see extraordinarily detailed images broadcast from 250 miles above the surface of the Earth.

Christie Digital Systems is at the forefront of projection technology. The global visual, audio and collaboration solutions company provides diverse solutions for business, entertainment and industry and has installed over 100,000 projection solutions worldwide.
