Over 120 Christie Projectors were used to stunning effect at Singapore’s 50th birthday festivities (SG50) earlier this month.
Christie’s rental staging partner, Hexogon Solution Pte Ltd, deployed both the Christie Boxer 4K30 and the Christie Roadster HD20K-J to create spectacular projection mapping performances at three locations: the Padang (venue of the National Day Parade), the world famous Sentosa Merlion and the iconic Fullerton Hotel.
“The SG50 celebration is one of our key projects for this year and we wanted to deliver an unforgettable projection mapping spectacle during the National Day Parade (NDP), ” explained Adrian Goh, managing director, Hexogon Solution.
Performances included nightly eight-minute spectacles projected onto the façade of the Fullerton Hotel in Marina Bay and the huge Sentosa Merlion as well as motion graphics for the National Day Parade designed to dovetail with the movements of 3, 500 performers on stage.
Goh praised the the Boxer 4K30’s 4K resolution and omnidirectional capability which allowed Hexogon to ‘ project a complete image onto the entire Merlion sculpture and with a much higher resolution than before.’
Lin Yu, vice president, Christie Asia Pacific said the company was delighted that Hexogon had used their projectors “to deliver spectacular and truly memorable visual experiences that are shared by thousands of Singaporeans.”
‘It was a valuable experience for us, ” added Goh. "The Christie Boxer 4K30 and HD20K-J projectors performed up to our expectations.”
