Imagineear, an audioguide and multimedia content specialist offering a full range of advisory and interpretation services, has shared how its partnership with Musealia, a global leader in the creation of touring exhibitions, has supported shows across countries, languages, and venues over more than a decade.
Since 2015, the company has helped Musealia present Titanic: The Human Story, The Berlin Wall: A World Divided, Auschwitz: Not Long Ago and Not Far Away, and Seeing Auschwitz to audiences across Europe, North America, Australia and New Zealand.
Global expertise
Moving a major exhibition between cities and countries is not straightforward, and successful tours demand an adaptable approach that maintains a consistent guest experience.

Audio guides for travelling exhibitions need to be hardwearing, versatile and reliable.
Imagineear's Mirage and Piccolo multilingual devices are designed for large audiences, with intuitive on-screen displays that can offer language options, stop numbers, titles and relevant imagery without drawing attention from the exhibition itself.
Additionally, its Connect Boxes allow devices to synchronise with exhibition films and other AV installations, combining audio interpretation and exhibition within the same experience.
The company also provides logistical support and works with host venues, exhibition producers, local AV companies and logistics partners to coordinate equipment, train venue staff and provide ongoing technical assistance.
On-site technical support is available for installation and more complex issues, with remote support offered across multiple time zones and replacement equipment dispatched as necessary. Equipment can also be received, repaired, updated, and sent on to the show's next host via Imagineear's network of trusted European partners.
Long-term collaboration
Over more than a decade of partnership, Musealia’s technical requirements have changed, and Imagineear's role has evolved with them.
Now, the company supplies and maintains equipment globally, and provides software that connects devices with external media and supports remote content updates. Its support has also expanded, from additional staff training and practical operating guides to shipping and customs assistance.

Existing tours can be adapted for new locations and languages, while versatile fleet management means that device numbers can be adjusted for different venues.
Imagineear can also provide usage and language-selection insights across different venues where data collection is enabled.
These insights provide a better understanding of how usage varies across locations by identifying patterns in how visitors engage with the tour, for example, which stops are listened to most often or which tend to be skipped.
This knowledge can help shape planning for future venues, from content to staffing levels and equipment needs.
This summer, Imagineear entered the Australian market with the launch of a new multimedia tour at Marvel Stadium in Melbourne.
