Major Cineplex, Thailand’s largest cinema operator, is installing Christie’s RGB laser projection system in its flagship auditorium in Bangkok’s Siam Paragon shopping mall.
The Siam Pavalai theatre, which features a 23 metre screen, is part of the 16-screen Paragon Cineplex.
Christie has been selected to deliver the ultimate 3D viewing experience to customers in the 1, 096 seat auditorium.
“We are proud to be the first exhibitor in Thailand to offer this brand new cinema technology for our guests to enjoy a movie experience like no other, ” commented Vicha Poolvaraluk, Chairman of Major Cineplex group.
“By introducing Christie’s cutting-edge RGB laser projector to our flagship multiplex, we are taking the immersive cinema experience to the next level.”
The scaleable system uses a Christie CP42LH 3DLP® 4K RGB laser projector. It features a remote projection head connected to the laser light source via a fibre optic link. This innovative system architecture delivers unprecedented brightness – up to 60, 000 lumens per rack.
“Our award-winning RGB laser projection system has effectively demonstrated how 3D light levels, colour fidelity, image uniformity, viewing comfort, and a sense of immersion can be greatly improved, ” reported Han Kim, General Manager, Christie Singapore.
Christie’s RGB laser projection system is being selected by a growing number of leading cinema chains worldwide. Venues using the technology include Tongzhou Wanda Cinema in Beijing, the iconic Shanghai Film Art Centre and the HOYTS Chadstone in Melbourne, Australia.
