Christie Signs Partnersip Deal with Wanda Cinema Line, China

Global leaders in Audio Visual solutions, Christie Digital Systems, has brokered a partnership deal with the world’s largest cinema operator, China’s Wanda Cinema Line.

Wanda Cinema Line, which operates 195 theatres and 1, 732 movie screens in China, has committed to installing 1, 500 Christie cinema projectors and the Christie Vive Audio™ solution in selected cinemas, over the next three years.

Maojun Zeng, Vice President of Wanda Culture Group and CEO of Wanda Cinema Line, commented, “It has been a pleasure working with Christie to date and we look forward to strengthening our collaboration with this industry pioneer and ongoing visual solutions technology leader. Together, we will provide high-quality, innovative shared experiences for Wanda’s customers.”

Wanda Cinema Line is growing rapidly and is expected to lead in cinema market share in China by 2016. Christie has announced that it will be opening 13 new parts-and-service centres to support the large-scale roll-out.

Both companies will be continuing to promote and develop Wanda’s ‘Hall 9’ auditoriums which gained impetus with the installation of the first state-of-the-art Christie Vive Audio™ cinema sound system in China at Beijing’s CBD Wanda Plaza. Further ‘Hall 9’ auditoriums are in the pipeline.
