The new ‘Dragon’s Den’ waterslide will be Sandcastle’s biggest addition to the waterpark in almost a decade.

Dragon’s Den is ideal for thrill seekers, offering visitors a breath taking 45 foot waterslide which is immersed in total darkness, before plummeting them into a 35 foot bowl.  There, guests are facing with a spitting, mist-shrouded dragon which stands 9 feet high as they are whirled around the bowl between 2 and 4 times, before disappearing suddenly into a landing pool.

“We want to try to keep thingsProSlide Technology: Dragon's Den Waterslide at Sandcastle Waterpark fun and exciting for our guests, ” says Sandcastle’s General Manager Damian Dondero.

“This has been a few years in the making and we are excited to add a waterslide that is completely different than any other experience we currently have at Sandcastle.”

The two-person Dragon’s Den sliding tube will be located adjacent to the Mon Tsunami Wave Pool and behind the Snack Shack; riders must be 48 inches or taller to ride the waterslide, making it ideal for families with older children.

Dragon’s Den was designed and manufactured by ProSlide Technology and construction is expected to be completed by the time Sandcastle opens for full daily operation on June 9th.  (Note: Sandcastle is open for weekend operation from May 26th.)

The waterpark will then open daily until August 19th and will open every weekend at 11:00am. Tickets for the water attraction cost just $31.00 for adults and $21.99 for children of 48 inches (4 Feet) and under and seniors. Summer passes can also be purchased from the Sandcastle website at $99.00 and $69.00 respectively.

Sandcastle Waterpark is part of the Palace Entertainment group, which owns and operates 40 entertainment parks across the USA. These include a number of different attractions such as waterparks and family entertainment centres, including Kennywood and Idlewild.
