Record Attendance for Children’s Museum of Indianapolis From LEGO® & Hot Wheels®

The Children’s Museum of Indianapolis welcomed a quarter of a million visitors during June and July of 2012.  At 11 percent higher than the previous year, this is an all-time attendance record.

President and CEO, Dr. Jeffrey H. Patchen, said, "It is gratifying to know that tens of thousands of children head back to school this month with richer, deeper learning experiences that are sure to enhance their education.”

Among the popular exhibits this summer at the museum were the temporary exhibitions, Hot Wheels For Real™! and LEGO® Travel Adventure,   as well as Dinosphere: Now You’re in Their World, National Geographic Treasures of the Earth and the museums other permanent exhibits.

LEGO® Travel Adventure, which closed July 31, 2012, inspired visitors to create new forms of transport by building vehicles from LEGO® bricks.

The Hot Wheels For Real exhibit remains open until January 27, 2013, and includes rare collectible Hot Wheels® die-cast cars as well as life-size models of favourites like Twin Mill®, Bone Shaker®, and the Deora® II.

The Children’s Museum Guild’s 49th Annual Haunted House, the Wicked Workshop, is opening October 13, 2012.  The Wicked Workshop features Winny the Witch’s Halloween factory with lights on or off visiting hours to provide a choice of fright experience.
