Series B funding round was led by Level Equity

RocketRez, the end-to-end cloud ticketing platform for tours and attractions, has announced the close of a US$15 million Series B funding round, led by Level Equity, a New York City-based growth investor focused on best-in-class software pioneers. As part of this transaction, Charles Chen from Level Equity will join the firm’s Board of Directors, joining Blueprint Equity from a previous funding round.

With this funding, RocketRez will expand the capabilities for top tours and attractions already in its portfolio, such as Maui Ocean Center, Xtreme Xperience, Aquarium of the Bay, and Governors Island, and accelerate its ability to provide incredible end-to-end guest experiences in new market verticals.

This fresh investment will allow RocketRez to continue adding important leadership positions and increase its sales capabilities as it looks to new vertical markets and geographical areas in addition to engineering and software development. Additionally, RocketRez will keep expanding its partnerships and integrations.

Belief in RocketRez’s vision

During the last two years, and despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, the firm has more than doubled its growth. It has seen increases in clients, grown the team, and reached new geographic areas, as well as more dollars being transacted through its platform. It was this fast growth at a challenging time for the industry that helped RocketRez to catch the attention of Level Equity.

RocketRez and Level Equity will work together to provide mid-market tours and attractions with data-driven enterprise-level ticketing and business insight. RocketRez enables operators to use data from every touchpoint throughout the customer journey to improve their on-site visitor experience, as tours and attractions move from legacy technology to digital maturity.

“We believe in RocketRez’s vision and their high-growth potential as demonstrated by the marquee clients they’ve onboarded and retained during these challenging times,” says Chen. “Global tourist attractions have weathered the storm in part due to the innovative solutions provided by RocketRez. They understand that technology and data are what will power their vision for the ultimate guest experience.”

Delivering better guest experiences

“The ability to capture data from multiple digital touchpoints gives operators more robust insights into customer behavior that cannot be achieved with disconnected sets of technology services,” says RocketRez CEO John Pendergrast. “Level Equity’s investment into RocketRez will help us accelerate more fulsome digital solutions that will deliver even better guest experiences for our customers and will enable us to expand our geographic reach.”

“Online and on-site ticket purchases, mobile ticket scanning, retail and food and beverage purchases, email and SMS communication, and various other interactions are all part of a single customer journey. With that information, an operator can make faster, smarter decisions about how to deliver a better guest experience, based on each visitor’s preferences. Large operators have built their own platforms but for mid-market operators they need to buy an all-in-one software platform and that’s what RocketRez delivers.”

RocketRez is a complete ticketing and operations platform targeted at mid-market tours and attractions with revenues of $2 million to $200 million. It offers functionality for online and on-site ticketing through e-commerce, Point-of-Sale and contactless kiosk channels, revenue management, business intelligence, customer management, as well as retail and food and beverage sales. Additionally, it includes collaborations with leading providers of hardware, software, channel management, and payment services that bring value to the platform and its users.

Last year, RocketRez showcased its new Rocket Pass solution at IAAPA Expo 2022 in Orlando. Rocket Pass offers a centralised location for tour and attraction guests to buy tickets and items, receive communication from attraction operators, store payment information, and manage their entire experience at a facility.
