Nick Thompson, Deputy Managing Director of Blackpool Pleasure Beach has been appointed as the new Chairman of the British Association of Leisure Parks, Piers and Attractions (BALPPA).
His father and grandfather have both previously held the role.
Leonard Thompson, Nick’s grandfather, was a founding member of the association and its first Chairman, back in 1936.
Nick’s father, Geoffrey Thompson, held the post twice, in 1981 and in 1992.
Nick said he was committed to securing a positive outcome for the industry in the wake of Brexit.
Currently, Blackpool Pleasure Beach is working with Germany-based, Mack Rides, on a double-launch roller coaster, code-named Construction 2018.
