The new Efteling Grand Hotel will overlook the theme park’s Aquanura water show and the Fairytale Forest.

Efteling has revealed more about its new hotel, which will be called Efteling Grand Hotel. Set to open in spring 2024, it will be the largest hotel within the Dutch theme park

Efteling Grand Hotel will overlook the park’s Aquanura water show and the Fairytale Forest. It will be the first accommodation to be located within the theme park.

The hotel’s site is currently being prepared, with construction starting after summer 2022. The seven-storey building will boast a 106-metre facade, as well as a giant clock and pendulum.

Sander de Bruijn, head designer of the Efteling Grand Hotel, said the “striking and unique addition will be the central point in the World of Efteling, inspired by the history of the park and Scandinavian ports”.

“In terms of design, this hotel fits in with other characteristic buildings at Efteling, but its shape and functionality give it a character all of its own,” he added.

“Nature, greenery and water are the connecting factors.”

“Hotel guests, as well as visitors of the theme park, will be able to discover the wonderful environment of this new place from early until late,” he said.

The hotel will have 143 rooms and approximately 700 beds, bringing the total number of beds within Efteling to nearly 3,900. It will also feature a spa with a swimming pool.

There will be two restaurants, one on the ground floor and another on the first floor. Two shops will cover a total area of 450 square metres. The shops and restaurants will be available to hotel guests and park visitors.

Efteling has also opened a special fairytale inspired by Lewis Carroll’s Alice in Wonderland for its 70th anniversary, with the new temporary attraction running through 3 October.

Efteling Grand Hotel, which is part of the â€˜World of Efteling 2030’ expansion, will join two existing hotels at Efteling and two holiday villages.
