Europa-Park’s 14th coaster features seven inversions and four launches

Europa-Park has announced an opening date for its new Voltron Nevera roller coaster, the longest multi-launch coaster in Europe.

Voltron Nevera powered by Rimac will open to guests on 26 April, Europa-Park confirmed in a press release. Built by Mack Rides, Voltron Nevera will be Europe’s longest multi-launch coaster at 1,385 metres.

Located in Europa-Park’s new Croatia-themed area, the park’s 14th roller coaster features seven inversions and four launches, including a 105-degree launch – the steepest in the world.

Riders also experience several LSM launch tracks with speeds of 55.9 mph, a maximum height of 106.6 feet, and a unique turntable element.

During the ride experience, guests will be immersed in Serbian-American inventor and engineer Nikola Tesla’s electricity experiments.

For the new coaster, Europa-Park has partnered with Mate Rimac, founder and CEO of Rimac Automobili, a Croatian automotive manufacturer behind the Rimac Nevera electric sports car.

Michael Mack previously said the partnership with Rimac is “a perfect match”. He added: “We’re united by our entrepreneurial spirit, our passion for acceleration and our special relationship with Croatia.”

“The history of the Mack family is very fascinating to me,” said Rimac.

“This is where visionaries and top engineers meet, both striving to be the best in their field,” he added.

“For me, it is an honour that Germany’s largest theme park will not only be able to show our innovations, but also present the rich history and culture of Croatia.”

Also part of the new Croatia-themed area is the ‘Suveniri Nikola’ shop and the ‘Sunce i Lavanda’ ice cream parlour, home to an animatronic figure of Nikola Tesla.

Additionally, in Europa-Park’s France-themed area’s Magic Cinema 4D, guests can see the Voltron 4D film, which includes special effects, immersive projections and sensory elements.

Last month, the Mack family took Voltron Nevera on its first test ride.
