A range of immersive experiences and attractions await theme park-goers in China

Fantawild Holdings, a leading one-stop solution provider in the theme park industry, has opened its latest site in China’s Jiangsu province.

Huaian Fantawild Glorious Orient has been developed by the leisure firm in partnership with the City of Huaian local government. Following a total investment of over 3 billion CNY, the park officially opened on 1 July 2022, covering an area of approximately 600,000 square meters.

Located at No.1 Fantawild Avenue in the Hongze District, the new park features eight indoor and over thirty outdoor attractions, alongside retail and food & beverage options.

The park’s intricately landscaped layout comprises five themed streets including Hong Kong Street, Shanghai Street, Peking Street and Huanghuatang; which feature immersive attractions recreating China’s struggles over the last century. The new park expects more than 3 million visitors per annum.

Alongside China’s modern history such as its road to independence and regeneration, the park also displays famous historical figures and milestones from the local area, providing opportunities for guests to learn about local culture and traditions.

A park of stories

Forming part of Fantawild’s Beautiful China park trilogy, Glorious Orient uses a wide range of technology types to retell well-known tales such as AR, VR and spherical screens. Some of these already proving popular with Chinese visitors include musical performances of The Glorious Years and the 4D dark ride Railroad Warriors.

As one of the headline attractions, visitors board boats for Zhi Yuan, an indoor rafting attraction during which guests witness fierce sea battles. During the experience, riders discover the legend of the titular ancient cruiser, which was once part of the Chinese Navy. Fantawild anticipates that its guests will feel immersed in the historic events and soak up the patriotic and adventurous spirit embodied aboard the renowned cruiser.

Other attractions include Heroine, an indoor stage performance which highlights the touching stories of several women who have displayed the Chinese patriotic spirit during times of unrest.

Glorious Orient takes visitors back to 1840 in its huge screen 3D Theatre, undertaking a whirlwind tour of China’s history including the country’s setbacks and industrialisation achievements.

Other story-based attractions include entertainment production Old Summer Palace and flight simulator Let’s Fly, which is a popular attraction at Fantawild’s other parks in China.

Thrills and food

Fantawild Glorious Orient is also designed to appeal to the thrill-seeking demographic, with rides such as the FighterJet roller coaster, approaching speeds of up to 90 kilometres per hour, or the swinging thrills of Pirate Adventure.

Explaining its appeal to visitors of all ages, who can also enjoy a plethora of entertainment and dining options, a company representative says: “The park aims to provide visitors with a unique experience with distinct themes, family-friendly attractions and high-quality customer service. Older people might prefer performances, while there are also attractions suitable for younger children.”

Families with kids may be tempted to visit Boonie Bears Burger House, themed around the titular animated TV series and featuring an indoor children’s playground. With its many pseudo-classic buildings and backdrops, Glorious Orient is now ready to transport visitors back in time to different periods from recent history.

Fantawild recently held a ceremony to mark the beginning of project construction for a new water park and hotel in China’s Jiangxi province.
