Leading theme park developer, Haichang Ocean Park Holdings Ltd. has entered into a strategic partnership with online travel-booking and e-ticketing platform, Alitrip.
Alitrip will provide QR code scan services for ticket purchasing and gate admissions as well as in-park cashless transactions via Alipay.
The Chinese government has been actively promoting the concept of intelligence tourism in a bid to encourage offline companies to improve their online presence.
Haichang Ocean Park’s alliance with Alitrip is a major step towards meeting the criteria of the company’s new operational model – “Intelligent Theme Park/Park of the Future”.
“This strategic cooperation with Alitrip marks an important step for the company in the Intelligence Tourism field, ” confirmed Mr. Wang Xuguang, Chief Executive Officer of Haichang Ocean Park Holdings Ltd. “Following the market trend, we will establish the high-tech “Intelligent Theme Park”, optimise the marketing channel, effectively enhance the tourist’s experience and service quality, and realise the integration of online and offline products.”
As part of the agreement, Alitrip has undertaken to fully launch its O2O Experience Stores in all of Haichang Ocean Park’s theme parks. The first Alitrip O2O Experience Store has already opened in Tianjin Haichang Polar Ocean Park.
“We choose Haichang Ocean Park as our first strategic cooperation partner, and choose Tianjin Haichang Polar Ocean Park to establish our first Alitrip O2O Experience Store for two main reasons, ” explains Mr. Li Shaohua, Chief Executive Officer of Alitrip. “Firstly, we are optimistic about the domestic theme park industry. Secondly, the industry position, strong operational capability, huge traffic and goodwill of Haichang in the niche market are appealing.”
