The Mine Train rollercoaster forms the centrepiece of Ocean Park Hong Kong’s holiday extravaganza, Christmas Sensation.
Ocean Park Hong Kong’s Christmas Sensation starts on 11thDecember 2017.The major draw is Hong Kong’s first VR rollercoaster, presented by Samsung Gear VR.The theme park has combined the already popular Mine Train with cutting edge technology, creating a brand new sensory experience.Guests put on VR headsets to enjoy a breath-taking glide through a rainforest canopy.They float along tumbling rivers before diving into the ocean.Coming face to face with the incredible animals that live in the rich biodiversity of the Amazon rainforest is a wonderful thrill. Guests experience realistic sensations of high speed and centrifugal force as the train rockets along.
Several VR game zones will also be set up to test guests’ acumen in action-packed game challenges.
In addition, Ocean Park is partnering with Pinkoi, the major online marketplace for designers in Asia.For the first time they will presentOcean Park x Pinkoi Festive Marketplace.This gathers together a wide range of original gifts by local designers.
The Christmas Market will transform the park’s Waterfront Plaza into an atmospheric Christmas village, complete with artificial snow.Visitors can warm themselves with hot chocolate and traditional seasonal snacks while exploring the market.
The Light up the Night ceremony takes place each nightfall at the 40 foot Christmas tree.An angelic choir perform for guests.
Families can snap a photo of their children atSanta's Cottage, decorated withcolourful mosaics.The Garden of Romance offers plenty of opportunities for selfies with the living statue and Christmas-themed topiaries.Whiskers Harbour hosts the interactiveWhiskers and Friends Winter Gamefor children.
Christmas Sensation at Ocean Park Hong Kong runs from 11th December 2017 to 1st January 2018.
