Leading innovator in ride design, Premer Rides Inc., has been honoured with two prestigious European Star Awards.
The company, known for its cutting-edge magnetic launch roller coasters, won awards for the zombie-themed ‘Sky Scream’ in the Best Steel Coasters category and the water coaster ‘Vonkaputous’ in Best Water Rides.

Sky Scream has been a runaway success at Holiday Park, attracting a record number of fans since it opened last year. A full-on thrill ride, the magnetic technology enables the ride to be launched forwards, backwards and forwards again with increasing speed. It features a twisting heart line inversion, two vertical rolls and a non-inverting loop. The coaster won a European Star Award 2014 in the Best New Rides category.
Steve Van den Kerkhof, CEO of Plopsa Group said he was delighted that the ride had been recognised once again: “The ride we developed with Premier Rides is clearly very popular with our guests.”
Seay describes the water coaster ‘Vonkaputous’ at Linnanmaki Amusement Park in Helsinki as ‘a really fun coaster layout with some excellent water interaction. The splashdown is impressive and even guests watching the ride from the midway get a show.”
One of Finland’s first water coasters, it’s “a great example of our efforts to provide a fantastic and unique ride experience, ” said Pia Adlivankin, Managing Director of Linnanmaki Amusement Park.
