The new hire brings a wealth of experience to the transport specialist

Severn Lamb, a leader in the manufacture and supply of leisure, resort and amusement transport, has announced Newton Montano as a director of business development for mobility solutions.

Montano will represent the company in the Americas, Hawaii & Caribbean region, bringing more than three decades of industry experience and knowledge from both the electric vehicle and passenger mobility sectors. The role will predominantly concentrate on the development of client and strategic partnerships, expanding Severn Lamb’s reach within the Americas.

Delivering sustainability

The executive has an exceptional background working with automotive IoT solutions and EV technologies, aligning with Severn Lamb’s product development strategy. The firm is currently focussing on sustainability and delivering greener visitor transportation systems and rides for attractions.

Newton has helped deliver more than 700 multi-million-dollar vehicle contracts for advanced people movers around the world. Notable clients include Apple Inc., Resorts World, Sea World, and Six Flags.

Newton says “It is a true pleasure to be joining the Severn Lamb team, and I am looking forward to many years of working together through collaboration and friendship.”

Patrick Lamb, the firm’s managing director comments: “We are thrilled Newton has joined our team providing us the ability to better support and develop our business across the pond.” A company representative adds: “All parties are excited to see how this working relationship progresses and are keen to get the ball rolling.”

British projects

Last year, Severn Lamb assembled and transported two new road trains to Royal Botanical Gardens, Kew, in London, home to the largest and most diverse botanical collection in the world.

The company is also playing a pivotal role in the ongoing revitalisation project of Southend Pier, the world’s longest pleasure pier at over two kilometres long, which will receive new trains to transport guests down across the UK landmark.
