Six Flags Magic Mountain is introducing an Amazon-powered grab-and-go cashierless shop where guests can purchase items without having to wait to pay.

The new Quick 6 micro-market concept will debut this summer at Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, as reported in the Los Angeles Daily News.

The Quick 6 retail outlet, located near the park’s main gate plaza and fountain, will sell a limited line of merchandise, snacks and beverages. It will be powered by Amazon’s frictionless payment technology.

“We’re excited to be partnering with Amazon and Coca-Cola on a new retail location, Quick 6, opening at the park this summer,” said Six Flags officials.

Amazon-powered checkout-free shops

“This is a joint venture with Amazon and Coca-Cola that will offer the innovative ‘just walk out’ technology allowing guests to shop and purchase items without having to wait in line for a cashier.”

Additionally, a new Quick 6 location is opening this week at Six Flags Great Adventure in New Jersey (via NJBiz). This will sell Coca-Cola drinks, snacks and park essentials.

Shoppers at Quick 6 venues will choose a payment method upon entry, select the items they want to buy, put them in a virtual cart, and leave the shop when they are finished. They will be automatically charged.

According to NJBiz, Six Flags is describing the Quick 6 shops in New Jersey and California as the world’s first automated checkout-free shops in a theme park.

The checkout-free concept has already been seen in Amazon Go convenience stores, Amazon Fresh locations and Whole Foods supermarkets.

In more news, Six Flags Magic Mountain will soon be home to California’s largest solar energy project as the park is installing a new 12.37-megawatt solar carport over the main parking lot.

“Six Flags’ commitment to clean energy is the type of work that will power our future and ensure our kids have a healthy planet to call home,” said California Governor Gavin Newsom.
