Star Wars and Toy Story models on display at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

News
Star Wars fly-through, Toy Story

Visitors will be able to see models and plans for the new lands being created for Disney’s Hollywood Studios: Toy Story Land and Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

The displays will be installed and ready to view by mid-September.  They will be sited in a space that will be named Walt Disney Presents. It’s set to be a re-imagined version of the One Man’s Dream gallery.

Toy Story Land is set to open in 2018 while Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge will debut in 2019.

The Toy Story Land display includes ride-vehicle maquettes alongside concept art. The space will include family coaster, the Slinky Dog Dash as well as the Alien Swirling Saucers. The attractions have been scaled so that visitors feel as if they shrunk down to the size of toys.

Disney has also released a video showing a fly-through trip of its model for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.

Aside from the Star Wars and Toy Story displays, the area will also showcase concept art for Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway.  This will fit into the building that previously held the park’s Great Movie Ride attraction. GMR ceased operation on Sunday.

The space will carry on with its programme of hosting character greetings for Star-Lord and baby Groot. It will also show sneak previews of Disney films.  Walt Disney Presents will continue to show historic items, including sketches photos and storyboards.
