Sugar Studios, a studio, rehearsal and events space on the Greenwich Peninsula in South East London, often tests and showcases designs for sister company MDM Create from its home in an old Tate & Lyle factory. Now the studio and 350+ capacity events venue is available for hire to the wider attractions industry, for a wide range of activities, such as photoshoots, product launches or immersive experiences.
Originally created as space to shoot creations from MDM Props, a prop, model and scenery-making veteran, the Sugar Studios space includes one of the largest infinity coves in London, a white/blackbox studio, a greenscreen and chromakey space, and a large studio with a sprung wooden floor, alongside breakout zones and a cafe.

Space has a range of applications
Co-located with both MDM Props and MDM Create, Sugar Studios is ideally placed to test and showcase designs from its sister companies on-site. Recently Sugar Studios has also been commissioned to develop some exciting prototypes for leading UK theme parks and the team was also able to deliver those projects on-site.
The large and versatile space is centrally located, and available to a range of companies working in the creative and visitor attractions industries.
“It’s fantastic having a versatile space like Sugar Studios attached to our building,” says Eddie Saul, creative director of MDM Create. “For example, when we were recently asked to do some research and development work, using their infinity room allowed us to showcase our ideas to our clients in an impactful way.”
The studios can be accessed directly from a main road and also features a vehicle ramp and wide, super-high roller door leading straight into the studios. To date, Sugar Studios has accommodated cars, aircraft cockpits and many other large objects, wheeled straight into the infinity stage.
The Sugar Studios is also on hand to help from optioning and planning right the way through to the day itself. Hirers can bring their own set builder and props, or make use of MDM Prop’s talented scenic construction artists and modelmakers on the other side of the building.
This festive season, MDM Props teamed up with established luxury brands Dior and Harrods this festive season to create a winter wonderland-themed scene at the London department store.
