UKTI Announces ‘Experience Economy’ Event at Milan Expo

News

As part of UK Trade & Investment’s (UKTI’s) Creative Industries Week, the government body has announced a special event at the Milan Expo specifically targeted at the attractions and museums industries.

The event, billed as ‘a day of discourse, debate and discussion’ is being held on Wednesday 9th September at a villa in downtown Milan and will feature guest speakers offering the inside track on the ‘experience economy’.

Sessions include:

  • The history of Expos and the business opportunities which will flow from Astana 2017 and Dubai 2020
  • Ray Hole of Ray Hole Architects on the power of the experience economy
  • A look at how the Olympic Museum in Lausanne became a British success story
  • Sir Tim Smit and Simon Elliott on how the world of experiences changes people, places and perceptions

A special session is also planned around the Natural History Museum, V & A, Museum of Wales, Museum of London and British Museum, looking at how museums work with children and young people – the customers of tomorrow.

Prior to the event, UKTI reports that it will also be hosting a networking reception.
