American Wave Machines’ (AWM) SurfStream® installation at Surf’s Up, New Hampshire, has been confirmed as the venue for the first ever indoor wake surfing competition.

AWM’s standing wave technology has already powered the US’s first indoor surfing competitions in 2014 and 2015.

The 2016 Surf’s Up Tropical Wave Shred Competition on April 2nd will give competitors in the Pro, Outlaw and Amateur Classes the chance to showcase their wake surfing skills on the world’s largest standing wave machine.

SurfStream is widely recognised for providing an authentic out-of-ocean surfing experience. The 32’ wide surfing system at Surf’s Up caters for all skill levels, creating 2’ training waves to 6’ barrelling waves.

AWM, founded in 2000 by California surfer Bruce McFarland, has pioneered ground-breaking technology in its determination to replicate the action of natural ocean waves.

AWM’s SurfStream and PerfectSwell®, the first large-scale surf pool, feature in surf parks, water parks and resort destinations around the world, including Montreal, Sweden, Peru, Turks & Caicos, Taiwan, East Durham, NY and Nashua, NH.
