Melco Resorts & Entertainment has opened a new indoor water park and the Epic Tower hotel at its Studio City integrated resort (IR) in Macau.
Designed by Zaha Hadid Architects, Studio City‘s $1.2 billion second phase includes the indoor water park and two luxury hotel towers ā Epic Tower and W Macau.
“With our new 10-year gaming concession, Melcoās commitment and belief in Macauās long-term future remains unwavering,” said Lawrence Ho, Melco’s chairman and CEO.
“Throughout the pandemic, we never compromised our core beliefs in providing guests with quality hospitality, great design and world leading entertainment.”

The 10,000-square-metre indoor water park boasts 16 thrilling waterslides and attractions, while Epic Tower offers 338 suites.
The park’s aquatic attractions include seven waterslides, two wave pools, as well as a unique ‘oblivion pool’, a diving pool, a water coaster, and an indoor surfing simulator.
“The development, in addition to the many more to be unveiled in the third quarter of this year, undoubtedly reinforces Studio Cityās positioning as Asiaās entertainment capital, and Melcoās commitment to Macau through substantial and ongoing investment in the city’s future,” Ho added.
Melco Resorts & Entertainment is a developer, owner and operator of IR facilities in Asia and Europe.
Studio City‘s $1.2bn second phase
The company operates the Altira Macau and City of Dreams IRs in Macau. It majority owns and operates Studio City. In the Philippines, its subsidiary operates and manages City of Dreams Manila.
Melco is currently developing City of Dreams Mediterranean in Cyprus, which is set to be the largest integrated resort in Europe.
In 2021, the group announced plans to develop aĀ multibillion-dollar complexĀ with a theme park in Zhongshan, China.
Elsewhere, the UAEās first casino atĀ Wynn Resorts’ IRĀ in Ras Al Khaimah will attract millions of tourists to the emirate, according to a report.
