Orlando
Orlando is the most visited destination in the US. It is popular with families for its array of attractions, favourable Floridian climate, and for being the “theme park capital of the world”.
The world’s most visited theme park, Magic Kingdom, is located in Orlando, part of the Walt Disney World resort. This resort is also home to Disney’s Hollywood Studios, Epcot, and Animal Kingdom parks. The resort features over 30 hotels, a transport system, and the Disney Springs shopping village.
Competitor Universal is also a dominant market player, with Universal Studios and Universal’s Islands of Adventure parks. A third park, Epic Universe, is currently being developed. Other parks include Fun Spot America and Gatorland.
IAAPA regularly hosts its leading trade event, IAAPA Expo, at Orlando’s Orange County Convention Center. This brings together professionals from around the world each year.
Orlando is also home to a diverse and eclectic collection of attractions including golf courses, interactive experiences, and other leisure categories. The city has several museums, including the Orlando Science Center, the Orlando Museum of Art, the Orange County Regional History Center, and Ripley’s Believe It or Not!
Other major attractions in Orlando include ICON Park, a retail entertainment complex home to a 400-foot observation wheel. There are several midway attractions operated by Merlin Entertainments.
