Leading specialist fit-out and theming company, Paragon Creative, has created and installed the displays for a stunning new exhibition about the Mayas.
‘Mayas: Revelation of an Endless Time’ immerses visitors in the architectural, cultural and artistic achievements of the Mesoamerican civilisation that thrived for nearly 2000 years.
Paragon designed, built and installed the themed displays which house 385 stunning objects assembled from museums and Maya sites in Mexico. The exhibition has been produced by the Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia (INAH) in Mexico.
All manufacturing was undertaken in York at Paragon’s own joinery and scenic workshops. The company was also responsible for the display lighting which incorporates 950 individually dimmable mini LED spotlights designed to show off the historic artefacts to best effect.
Annie Lord, Head of Museum Exhibitions at National Museums Liverpool, praised David Johnson (project manager) and the whole Paragon team for “their positive and proactive approach throughout the development and delivery of the project. All those involved at NML commented on how smoothly and calmly the exhibition came together particularly given the time scales.”
The exhibition forms part of the 2015 ‘Year of Mexico’ in the United Kingdom and ‘Year of the United Kingdom’ in Mexico.
