Christie Digital’s new flagship projector has been showcased at a special Worldstage event-technology presentation.
The purpose of the session was to introduce the latest 4K display technology and allow viewers to compare it with the more familiar HD.
Presenter Josh Weisberg, President and COO of WorldStage, guided the audience of 125 clients and associates through a variety of content forms and formats, highlighting where 4K projection could provide a significant benefit over HD video projection. Viewers were able to compare identical content using a state-of-the-art Christie Digital HD20K-J HD projector and Christie’s new flagship projector, the Boxer 4K30.
“After the audience reviewed pre-recorded content, the final demonstration compared a live HD video and live 4K video, ” said Weisberg.
Christie’s new Boxer 4K30 – a 30, 000 lumen, high-resolution, 3DLP projector – was billed as the smallest, smartest and most efficient 30K projector available. Key features include omni-directional operation, single-phase power, a full range of input connections, built-in warp and blend functionality, and stunning colour reproduction.
Weisberg: “You could hear the crowd murmuring in astonishment at how detailed and lifelike the 4K camera image appeared on the 4K projector.”
