Jacoby Development Inc, an Atlanta-based developer, has posted conceptual plans for a marine-focused project on their website.  One Ocean Place would be a complement to the adjacent Georgia Aquarium.

The development would fill a large parcel of land bordered by Marietta Street, Ivan Allen Jr. Boulevard, and Luckie Street. The company says One Ocean Place would be intended to complement its next-door neighbour, the Georgia Aquarium.

The plans show One Ocean Place as a two-towered building, offering research facilities for marine life studies. They map out exhibition and event facilities, including a theatre. There would also be restaurants and retail spaces. An observation deck and rooftop terrace would potentially offer amazing panoramic views across the city.

The development would be connected to the Georgia Aquarium at parking deck level via bridges across Luckie Street.

Plot owner, Georgia Aquarium has noted that the concept is still only conceptual. It says much more information would be required before the project would get the go-ahead, reports Biznow.

Jacoby is well-versed in carrying out large-scale in town developments. In the past, the company has delivered both Atlantic Station and Porsche North America’s headquarters near the airport.

If One Ocean Place were to be built, it would join a roster of popular attractions in the area. World of Coca-Cola, the College Football Hall of Fame, and the Georgia Aquarium are all sited around Centennial Olympic Park.

The project would also be well-served by nearby hotels. A new hotel is slated to be constructed just a block away.
