The Explora collection by leading aquatic attractions company, Vortex, has scooped two International Design Awards (IDA).
Explora was recognised in two IDA Product Design categories, winning Gold in Leisure Games and Fun; and Silver in the Designs for Social Impact category.
The highly-respected awards were established in 2007 by a group of designers and entrepreneurs. Their aim is to highlight, celebrate and promote design visionaries and to uncover emerging talent in the design disciplines of architecture, interior, product, graphic and fashion.
“International Design Awards recognise the strategic thinking, imagination and design that go into making products that are used, valued and loved by end users. That is a vision we share at Vortex,” stated Stephen Hamelin, President of Vortex International.
“We build meaningful play experiences into every product, and we are thrilled to see our innovations acknowledged.”
Explora encourages active play
Explora facilitates active play, a component common to all the company’s collections. Diverse, engaging elements keep children moving, pushing, pulling, spinning and exploring.
Designed for toddlers through tweens, Explora encourages kids to explore the process of cause and effect. What’s more, the dynamic and vibrant design inspires them to interact with the world around them, participate in collaborative play, and take inclusive play a step further.
The Explora collection is designed to combine with other featured Vortex products to create fun and safe aquatic play structures for families and children of all ages and abilities.

These latest trophies come hot on the heels of a Most Valuable Product 2018 award for the company’s PrecisionRide series as voted by readers of Aquatics International.
Vortex’s PrecisionRide is a series of waterslides designed to provide unmatched smooth, comfortable rides.
“We are always striving to bring innovative products to the market while maintaining the highest level of quality and performance,” stated Hamelin. “With the PrecisionRide series, you really have the best of both worlds, which makes for the ultimate waterslide experience. ”
