Andreas Andersen has left his role as CEO of Liseberg amusement park in Gothenburg, Sweden.
Andersen has been CEO of Liseberg since February 2011, when he took over from Mats Wedin. During his time as CEO, the city centre park has undergone several major changes.
Liseberg announced last year that the Kaninlandet children’s play area would be expanded, with a total investment of SEK 200 million ($21m, £16m). The new themed area will open in spring 2020.

Recent investments include award-winning thrill rides such as Helix, Loke and Valkyria.
“I am very proud of the Liseberg that I have been involved in managing and developing,” Andersen said in a press release.
“But I am most proud of my fantastic colleagues who I know will take Liseberg to new heights.”
Andersen chose to leave Liseberg for family reasons. He is now set to return to Tivoli in Copenhagen to take on the role of director of the famous amusement park and pleasure gardens
Liseberg and the City of Gothenburg will soon begin a recruitment process to find a new CEO.
Christer Holmgren, Chairman of the Board, Liseberg, said: “Andreas has done a fantastic job as CEO of Liseberg and he leaves a very well-run and well-functioning company after him.
“It is important for us to find the right person who can continue to lead Liseberg into the future.”
Andreas Andersen’s theme park career
Since being appointed vice-president of Tivoli in 2002, Andersen has enjoyed a distinguished career in the theme park industry.
In 2008, he moved to IAAPA to become the association’s executive director for Europe, a position he held for three years before returning to park management as CEO of Liseberg.
During the 2017 IAAPA Attractions Expo in Orlando, he took over from Greg Hale as chairman of the board for the following year.
