wiegand.waterrides announces new flexible water slide insulation

News
Wiegand waterrides at Interbad Stuttgart

The firm presented its new Insuflex solution at the Interbad trade fair in Stuttgart

wiegand.waterrides, a leading water rides and attraction provider, launched a new product at this year’s Interbad event in Stuttgart, Germany, a trade fair for pool and water technology. Insuflex is an innovative flexible insulation solution that gives operators a new way to save energy. As well as being included in new installations, Insuflex can also be retrofitted to existing slides.

The product is light and durable and is also quick to assemble, providing an inexpensive option for every type of slide. It has a heat transfer coefficient as low as 0.25 and features an individual, photo-realistic design. LED backlighting is also possible.

Presenting Insuflex

For operators, it is clear that insulating a water slide’s outdoor tubes – especially for those parks in particularly windy or cold areas – is worthwhile and responsible, leading to savings for years to come.

Insulated water slides made of stainless steel and fibreglass-reinforced plastic (FRP) have been available from the firm for almost 15 years. The system, with a closed sandwich element and an insulating layer in the middle, allows easy control of the joints of the slides and even the use of double daylight effects, without the need for LED effects. Optionally, the outer surface can be selected in matt or high gloss.

Now, the new system from wiegand.waterrides, which it says is “absolutely individual, absolutely effective”, is even more simple and more flexible than ever before.

The Insuflex concept allows the insulation material to be added, plus a printed, flexible outer skin, even on existing tube chutes. As with the previous solution, the connecting flanges remain accessible for regular inspection.

Operators can choose from various graphics or design the look of their insulated slides themselves. Sponsor options with partner logos are also easy to create and the material even allows for backlighting with LED strips for a striking design.

wiegand.waterrides recently broke a number of company records when delivering replacements for South Korea’s Ocean Adventure water park, catering for families and thrill-seekers alike.
