TRON Lightcycle / Run launches on 4 April, and Wildcat’s Revenge opens in summer 2023.

Walt Disney World Resort has released a teaser POV video of TRON Lightcycle / Run, and Hersheypark has shared a full POV render for Wildcat’s Revenge.

The new TRON Lightcycle / Run roller coaster opens at Magic Kingdom on 4 April. It will be the fastest Vekoma coaster at the park, and one of the speediest coasters at any Disney theme park in the world.

Located in Tomorrowland, TRON Lightcycle / Run offers a train of two-wheeled Lightcycles. Guests experience a race through the ‘digital frontier’. The storyline picks up after 2010 film Tron: Legacy.

Hersheypark’s new Wildcat’s Revenge wood and steel hybrid coaster is due to open in summer 2023. The original Wildcat was the park’s first coaster.

Manufactured by Rocky Mountain Construction (RMC), the ride will include three custom trains, with the “design first” revealed at IAAPA Expo 2022.

One of 15 coasters at Hersheypark, Wildcat’s Revenge will be the first hybrid at the park in Pennsylvania and the first RMC in the state.

“Based on our guest feedback, we knew coaster fans would love a hybrid at Hersheypark – and we’re thrilled to work with RMC on a custom wood and steel coaster with a nod to our history,” said Vikki Hultquist, general manager of attractions at Hersheypark.

When TRON Lightcycle / Run opens, riders will be required to use digitised lockers for larger items – a first in one of Disney’s US theme parks.

At the time of launch, it will also use a virtual queue. This can be accessed via the My Disney Experience app. There will be no standby queue.
