Universal Orlando has unveiled its new Minion Land, home to themed dining and retail outlets, and the new ‘Villain-Con Minion Blast’ attraction.
Inspired by Illuminationâs Minions franchise, Universal Studios Floridaâs Minion Land is opening this summer.
As well as the existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem attraction, guests will enjoy the new Villain-Con Minion Blast, an interactive gaming experience where they compete against each other.
Villain-Con Minion Blast âcombines innovative screen technology, state-of-the-art gaming interactivity and elaborate physical sets to create a one-of-a-kind, game-based adventure where guests encounter immersive environments, nefarious villains and tons of mischievous Minions from Illuminationâs films in a whole new wayâ, said Universal Orlando.
Interactive attractions

Visitors use interactive blasters on a motion-based pathway. They âwind and glide through various scenesâ, earning points by blasting various objects and âcausing as much mayhem and destruction as possibleâ, said Universal Orlando.
After the experience, guests will find the new ‘Evil Stuff’ retail location. At the new ‘Minion Cafe’, they will enjoy three Minion-themed areas.
Dishes on offer here will include ‘Otto’s noodle bowl’, ‘Agnes’ honeymoon soup’, ‘Carl’s crispy cauliflower’, and ‘Bob’s teddy bear chocolate cream puff’.
Elsewhere, ‘Bake My Day’ is a retail outlet and bakery selling Minion-inspired sweet treats such as cupcakes and macarons, as well as exclusive Minion merchandise including clothing, toys and accessories.
Themed dining and retail

‘Pop-A-Nana’ is an F&B location selling sweet and savoury popcorn, while ‘Freeze Ray Pops’ will offer colourful popsicles inspired by Gru, the Minions and Vector.
At the Illumination Theater, guests can meet, greet and interact with characters including Gru, Margo, Edith, Agnes and the Minions, of course.
In an earnings call last month, Comcast president Mike Cavanagh said the companyâs parks âare resonating with our customers and this segment is clearly on a rollâ.
Universal Orlando will soon be home to a fourth theme park, Epic Universe.
