nWave Pictures, a multinational producer and distributor of immersive 3D/4D content, has reflected on a productive year as it prepares for a busy 2024.
The European animation studio, known for its state-of-the-art CG animation and family-focused content, is enjoying booming levels of activity. It has shared its highlights of 2023, including the release of its 10th feature film, and details of its upcoming release.
10th feature film
Since 2008, nWave Pictures has released ten appealing adventure-comedies with universal appeal, including the BIGFOOT franchise (The Son of Bigfoot and Bigfoot Family), The Queen’s Corgi, and Chickenhare and The Hamster of Darkness.
The Inseparables, the studio’s 10th animated feature film, hit theatres in the fourth quarter of 2023 and will continue to show in 2024. The film is a fun buddy adventure that follows the antics of Don, a puppet with an endless imagination, and DJ Doggy Dog, an abandoned stuffed animal toy in need of a friend. These two lovable characters cross paths in Central Park and team up for an epic adventure in New York City.
The feature film was accompanied by Theater of Dreams, a 4D/3D attraction film specifically designed for theme and attraction parks, which debuted in November. In it, viewers are introduced to Don and DJ Doggy Dog, who embark on extraordinary escapades driven by their imagination. Theater of Dreams is a visual spectacle full of action and the immersive 3D that nWave is renowned for, with stunning CGI images and a captivating soundtrack.
In addition, the studio presented at all three IAAPA Expos. nWave is a long-term member of IAAPA, and showcased its critically acclaimed content portfolio which also includes cutting-edge immersive 4D/3D attraction films, 3D/2D ride simulation films and 3D/2D educational documentaries for giant-screen theatres.
The animation studio is currently working on a sequel to its acclaimed feature film Chickenhare and the Hamster of Darkness, which was made available for both theatres and streaming. Audiences can look forward to a new adventure with Chickenhare and his trusted friends Abe and Meg.
Matthieu Zeller, nWave CEO, comments: “We love that project. And we have created a brand-new world. We are in the process of producing this movie, and animation has started already. It will be ready by the beginning of 2025.”
nWave Pictures launched Theater of Dreams at the IAAPA Expo in Orlando. It received an overwhelmingly positive response at the Expo where it was shown on a giant screen at the nWave booth.
