New family-friendly attraction debuts at Gardaland

Italy’s Gardaland theme park has opened its new Wolf Legend attraction, a drop tower ride themed to a majestic wolf turned to stone by a curse.

Riders on Wolf Legend are challenged to break the curse by dropping 25 metres through clouds of smoke and multiple rotations into the wolf’s mouth.

Per a press release, guests start the family-friendly experience by boarding a gondola. They ascend an octagonal tower, surrounded by lighting effects.

“With this attraction, we want to involve a very wide audience, from families with children to groups of friends. The goal is to win everyone over with unique experiences,” said Sabrina de Carvalho, divisional director at Gardaland.

Gardaland installed the new ride earlier this year after taking delivery of its 25-metre-high purple tower.

“Wolf Legend was designed by the Merlin Entertainments creative team based on visitor feedback,” De Carvalho said.

“We are confident it will provide a magical and exclusive experience for our guests. This season, we are investing approximately €14 million. This includes the new attraction, shows, and maintenance across Gardaland Resort, including our three hotels and Sea Life.”

As above, Gardaland Resort is home to the Gardaland park, the Legoland Water Park, a Sea Life aquarium, and three hotels. It welcomes nearly three million visitors every year.

Elsewhere, the UK’s fastest and tallest roller coaster has reopened at the UK’s Thorpe Park, also owned and operated by Merlin. Manufactured by Mack Rides, Hyperia reaches a top height of 236 feet and speeds of more than 80 mph.
