“After much anticipation, we are thrilled to officially announce the opening date of Jewels of the Sea: A Jellyfish Experience,” said Tyler Carter, park president of SeaWorld San Diego.

“This exhibit represents a true milestone for SeaWorld, showcasing our commitment to innovation, conservation and education.”

Jewels of the Sea includes three unique galleries with several species of jellies, such as moon and upside-down, and Pacific sea nettles.

Highlights include one of the largest jelly cylinders in the US, a walk-through “living archway” of jellyfish, and an immersive LED room.

The galleries are as follows:

Realm of Jellies – A Story of Water and Light: here, guests will see interactive habitats, including a cascading water globe filled with moon jellies.

The Jellyfish Passage: this space, described as an “otherworldly ocean”, will take visitors through a 10-foot-tall living archway of moon jellies creating a glowing environment.

Guests will enjoy interactive displays and one of the tallest jellyfish aquariums in the US.

Medusa Gallery: this 360-degree experience will be transformed through LED visuals to immerse guests in the depths of the ocean and a jellyfish kaleidoscope.
