Moment Factory, a multidisciplinary entertainment studio with over 24 years of expertise, is celebrating the opening of its 25th Lumina Enchanted Night Walk, Astra Lumina at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary in Australia, further strengthening its leadership in innovative night experiences.
With this new milestone, the company reinforces the success of the Lumima Enchanted Night Walks series as a revenue-generating solution for tourism and cultural attractions. Since its inception in 2014 in Canada, the multiple award-winning series has sold more than six million tickets worldwide, showing the continued demand for the concept.
The Lumina Enchanted Night Walks series is a collection of evening attractions that transform outdoor spaces into immersive experiences, allowing the repurposement of sites and broadening visitor demographics. Each path features multiple zones, weaving an original storyworld inspired by the site’s unique history, beauty, or cultural significance — all enhanced with lighting, original music, and special effects.
Global presence
With Astra Lumina Gold Coast becoming the 25th Lumina and the first permanent project in Australia and the Southern Hemisphere, the series has now travelled to four continents. Other locations include Canada, Japan, France, the United States, Singapore, and China.
The journey began in Canada in 2014, when Moment Factory was asked to create a nighttime experience for Parc de la Gorge de Coaticook. Inspired by the forest’s beauty, the concept of immersive night walks was born, blending nature, storytelling, and technology to showcase the wonders of the natural world.
The first Night Walk, Foresta Lumina, drew over 70,000 visitors in 2014—nearly ten times the initial estimate. In the following years, it continued to exceed expectations, welcoming over 145,000 visitors annually for two consecutive years and driving a 1,800% increase in traffic to the Coaticook region. As it completes its 11th season, Foresta Lumina celebrates over a decade of success.
The Lumina concept also enabled Moment Factory to develop important partnerships in Asia, where creative collaboration with local teams led to the launch of three Lumina Enchanted Night Walks in under a year. The synergy with Asia began with Island Lumina in Nagasaki, Japan in 2018—the first Lumina outside of Canada, followed by Rainforest Lumina in Singapore in 2018 and Kamuy Lumina in Japan in 2019.
The studio plans to further expand the Night Walk series this year, with projects unfolding in Turkey and South America.
A turnkey solution with environmental awareness
Moment Factory’s Enchanted Night Walks are a turnkey attraction solution. They offer unique storytelling and multimedia design that transforms landscapes into immersive, interactive narratives. The walks are customisable and scalable, from seasonal activations to permanent installations, and can be adapted to various settings, including forests, urban parks, heritage sites, botanical gardens, and ski resorts.
Inspired by the beauty of the natural sites where they are implemented, Moment Factory’s Night Walks are designed to blend carefully with their surroundings, featuring site-sensitive installations and energy-efficient lighting.

As an example, when developing Kamuy Lumina in the heart of Akan Mashu National Park in Japan, a UNESCO-protected site, Moment Factory dedicated over a year to research and development, creating custom technologies to minimise the impact on the park’s delicate flora and fauna.
This offering helps maximise site efficiency, promote off-peak tourism, and extend visitor stays in host regions. The model seamlessly integrates entertainment with nature conservation, ensuring daytime activities continue while highlighting often-overlooked areas of the landscape, providing a fresh perspective on forests and natural sites.
Elevating the immersive Night Walk experience
Over the past decade, Moment Factory has expanded its Night Walk experience portfolio, introducing several variations, each continuously enhanced with innovation, new technologies, and creative ideas to increase adaptability and efficiency to meet clients’ needs.
In its mission to bring the magic of the Night Walks to a broader public, Moment Factory partners with Fever and local promoters worldwide. With several projects on the horizon, the studio seeks to reach new audiences, inviting them to experience the beauty of nature in new and immersive ways.
Last year, Moment Factory expanded into the indoor water park sector with award-winning projects at Futuroscope’s new Aquascope water park in France and Wilderness at the Smokies’ Wild WaterDome, the largest indoor water park in Tennessee.
