Best Union and Vasco Rossi present world's biggest ever concert

A worldwide leader in ticketing technology and innovation, Best Union, has provided its online ticketing solution for a world record-breaking concert by Italian rock star, Vasco Rossi.

For Rossi, a long-standing chart-topper in his native country, selling out big arenas and stadiums is par for the course. His album Glisparisopra (“The shots above”), released in 1993, went platinum ten times. In 2007, “BastaPoco” (“A Little Is Enough”), topped the Italian FIMI Charts for 21 weeks, making it Italy’s best-selling single of 2007.

But, this latest concert on July 1st at the Enzo Ferrari park in Emilia is set to out-do all his previous performances as the world’s largest ever concert on a single night.

220,000 fans have purchased tickets

The concert is being organised by Big Bang promotion agency and sold by the Vivaticket ticketing platform, both belonging to the Bologna group Best Union.

Rossi decided to team up with Best Union, Italy’s biggest ticketing and access control solutions provider, in January, as the debate around secondary ticketing was still a major topic in the Italian music market.

An extra 20,000 tickets were made available as a special offer to those who had missed out on the original 200,000 release. They were solely managed by the official Vivaticket online channel, as there was no physical box office. Highly sought-after, the tickets were put up for sale on May 23, 2017 and sold out within hours.

“We are setting a new world record: it will be the biggest concert ever in the history of music,” commented Luca Montebugnoli, Chairman of Best Union Company, at a recent press conference in Modena.

The scale of the turnout shatters the records previously held by A-ha (with 198,000 fans in Rio de Janeiro’s Maracanà in 1991), Tina Turner in 1988 (188,000), and Paul McCartney in the 90’s (185,000). Those who haven’t been able to get a hold of a ticket need not despair. The organisers are planning to install huge screens in Rimini and Modena and the concert will be broadcast in over 140 cinemas throughout Italy. Best Union has over 20 years' experience in the sector and ranks in the top five ticketing and event services globally. The company is committed to providing state-of-the-art ticketing and access control solutions capable of handling high-volume sales and admissions, as well as expert services and staff for all aspects related to communication, promotion, and sponsorship of events around the globe.
