Birmingham tourism executives are reportedly planning a permanent Peaky Blinders attraction or experience for the UK city.

Per a report in the Sun, Digbeth is a potential location for the themed venue. The canals in Digbeth were used as a backdrop for the BBC show. Dudley’s Black Country Living Museum was also used to film parts of Peaky Blinders.

Neil Rami, chief executive of the West Midlands Growth Company, told BirminghamLive: “Peaky Blinders is a West Midlands success story, putting Birmingham and the Black Country on the map with visitors.

“This year we are working extensively on a campaign focusing on the impact of the hit series and the West Midlands’ screen tourism sector.”

“It is a no-brainer to consider doing something more permanent for visitors to celebrate Peaky and the upcoming film, so we have launched a feasibility study to investigate whether a new experience or attraction would be viable,” Rami added.

In 2019, Escape Live opened the world’s first official Peaky Blinders escape experiences, ‘The Raid’ and ‘Double Cross’, at its Birmingham location. Peaky Blinders: The Rise in Camden has also been extended until 28 May 2023.

Peaky Blinders star Cillian Murphy recently spoke about an upcoming film to continue the story after the show’s sixth and final season, which aired on the BBC in April 2022.

On Today FM, the Tommy Shelby actor said the script was “close” to being finished. He also said the plan is to “make a film and continue the story but in the cinematic world rather than on the television”.
