Endless Surf, a WhiteWater company specialising in next-generation wave pool technology, is celebrating the launch of its latest surf lagoon at Aquarabia, Qiddiya City’s flagship water theme park.
Opening on 23 April, the lagoon sits at the centre of the Surftopia zone. It brings customisable, ocean-quality waves into one of the world’s most ambitious water parks, signifying a major advancement for surf within the international attractions industry.
The project marks one of the first true integrations of surf into a large-scale water park and theme park environment, boosting the shift in its positioning from a niche facility to a key attraction.
Evolution of surf
Aquarabia is a key feature of Qiddiya City, a $750 billion destination set to become the Kingdom’s capital of entertainment, sports, and culture.
As Saudi Arabia’s first water theme park of its kind, Aquarabia sets a new standard for scale and ambition in the region, offering a record-breaking collection of rides, slides, and immersive experiences.
Delivered by WhiteWater, the park features 22 rides and experiences with numerous world-record-holding attractions. Spanning a footprint of around 250,000 square metres, it is one of the most ambitious water parks ever built.
Its Surftopia experience is defined by the ES32 Endless Surf lagoon, a high-energy, skill-based attraction that offers culture, progression, and repeatability.

Driven by 32 pneumatic wave-generating caissons, this has been developed to operate at scale, providing high capacity and a broad range of surf experiences suitable for varied user groups within a single footprint.
The lagoon can offer four distinct areas in split peak. With this, beginners can learn at The Shore while more advanced surfers also ride more challenging waves at The Peak. In single peak, tailored waves can be created on demand for a premium surf environment suited for world-class events and activations at Qiddiya City.
This versatility allows a high degree of operational flexibility, with wave programming that adapts across the day. The result establishes it as a high-frequency, high-impact attraction within a large-scale water park environment.
Cheyne Magnusson, surf design and operations manager at Endless Surf, says: "This world-class project shows how far surfing can evolve beyond its traditional boundaries.
"You’re bringing a true surf experience to places with no existing surf culture, which opens the door for entirely new audiences. It makes surfing more accessible, more consistent, and ultimately more global than it’s ever been before."
Ambition and scale
The launch at Aquarabia Qiddiya City marks a major landmark in an exceptional year for Endless Surf.
With further openings planned this year in the US, Brazil, and Mexico, the company's international footprint continues to grow, illustrating how surf can scale across markets and development types.

Paul Chutter, president and co-founder of Endless Surf, says: "Aquarabia is a powerful example of how surf is evolving within the global attractions landscape.
"We’re seeing surf move beyond standalone venues into fully integrated destinations like this — where it plays a central role in the overall guest experience.
"Delivering at this scale, within a project of this ambition, requires a level of control, flexibility, and reliability that is fundamental to Endless Surf. Aquarabia is a clear expression of that, and we’re proud to deliver it as part of this landmark project."
Earlier this month, WhiteWater highlighted key projects from its slate of over 60 projects opening worldwide this year across all its brands, including Water Parks, Water Rides, FlowRider, Endless Surf, and Vantage.
