Exhibition Hub, a leading creator, producer, and distributor of large-scale exhibitions worldwide, and Fever, a global platform for discovering live entertainment, have launched a refreshed edition of Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience in Cincinnati, US.

The award-winning experience previously showed in the city during 2022 and 2023.

Its return illustrates Exhibition Hub’s capacity to renew and extend the lifecycle of a proven touring experience by incorporating new content, enhanced immersive environments, and deeply resonant emotional storytelling.

This supports the company’s strategy of blending internationally recognised cultural topics with technology-driven visitor experiences that can adapt to repeat audiences and stay relevant across multiple markets.

Hamza El Azhar, CEO of Exhibition Hub, says: "Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience has connected with audiences around the world because it makes one of art history’s most recognizable stories feel immediate, emotional, and accessible.

"Returning to Cincinnati gave us the opportunity to build on an experience the city already knows while introducing new spaces that deepen the connection to Van Gogh’s work and personal story.

"The updated exhibition reflects how we continue to evolve our touring portfolio through richer storytelling, new technology, and memorable visitor participation."

New content & new value

Adding cultural relevance to the return, the Cincinnati reopening took place ahead of the anniversary of The Starry Night's creation, which falls in mid-June. Vincent van Gogh painted this iconic work in 1889 while staying at the Saint-Paul-de-Mausole asylum in Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.

The refreshed show introduces new immersive spaces, including the Sunflower Room and the Letters Room. These offer guests fresh ways to engage with Van Gogh’s life, creative process, and artistic legacy.

The Letters Room is inspired by the artist’s personal correspondence. This offers a deeper understanding of his emotional world and his relationship with his brother Theo van Gogh.

In The Sunflower Room, visitors will encounter a vibrant, highly visual environment inspired by one of Van Gogh's best-known bodies of work.

At the heart of the experience sits an expansive 360-degree digital projection show that uses animation, projection mapping, sound, and atmospheric design to envelop guests in Van Gogh’s paintings.

Furthermore, a unique virtual reality (VR) experience offers a glimpse into a day in the artist’s life in Arles, France, as guests explore eight works and the places that inspired them.

The attraction invites guests to explore how creativity, emotional struggle, resilience, and self-expression are connected through an immersive, rather than conventional, gallery format.

Developed for a wide range of audiences, the experience runs for around 60-90 minutes and is accessible to families, students, art enthusiasts, tourists, and guests who may not usually engage with a traditional museum exhibition.

Its blend of art, technology, narrative, education, and shareable environments shows how familiar cultural content can be updated for returning markets, while bringing meaningful new value to its visitors.

Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience is now open at Netherlands Plaza in downtown Cincinnati.

Last month, Exhibition Hub and Fever celebrated the Seattle launch of their first-of-its-kind immersive psychological exhibition, The Mind of a Serial Killer: The Experience.
