Frontgrid, an expert in adventure leisure and virtual reality attractions and the creator of ParadropVR, has announced that the unique motion-based flying experience will soon be coming to a new Sparkx sportainment venue in the Netherlands.
This marks the ongoing rollout of ParadropVR within the rapidly expanding sportainment brand and Paradrop’s first location in the country.
The new venue will host approximately fifty sport-related experiences in one place, blending physical challenges with immersive and simulated environments. ParadropVR will provide a distinctive motion-based flying experience under a canopy in virtual reality.

Matt Wells, CEO of Frontgrid, said: “Opening at a third Sparkx location is an important milestone for us. It shows that ParadropVR can consistently perform across multiple sites within a high-footfall, high-energy environment. Paradrop offers a high-throughput, repeatable attraction.
“Sparkx has created a format where physical activity and immersive technology genuinely complement each other, and Paradrop is delivering strong results.”
New volcano adventure
In addition to the installation, Frontgrid will launch a new ParadropVR game called Volcano Island, making its debut at the Utrecht location.
Tammy Owens, business development director and producer, says: “There is nothing like seeing an island from the sky to give you a sense of perspective. Swoop down volcanic landscape features and find your way through tunnels winding within the island’s mountainside. Watch out for the waterfall and lava along the way.
“Hone your flying skills to steer your canopy onto one of the targets in the sea, respawn, and do it all again to beat your score.”

The new title is part of ParadropVR’s expanding content library, emphasising replayability and competitive scoring—crucial factors for operators aiming to boost dwell time and encourage repeat visits.
The fusion of ParadropVR Pod’s motion-based hardware with its immersive content delivers a realistic flying experience. Additionally, its free-roam steering feature grants players greater control, setting it apart from other VR attractions available today.
The Utrecht site marks Sparkx’s first expansion outside Belgium. Situated in Nieuwegein, close to Utrecht, the new park will be built within the Beursfabriek events venue. Covering around 7,500 square metres, it will be Sparkx’s largest location so far and a significant addition to Europe's sportainment landscape.

The venue is aimed at a broad regional audience, including families, groups, schools, and corporate visitors.
For Frontgrid, the third installation is a clear validation of ParadropVR’s role, with ParadropVR designed to operate reliably within larger, multi-activity Sportainment environments.
Frontgirs also recently shared how ParadropVR, as an all-weather attraction, is helping drive four-season revenue for alpine resorts.
