Meow Wolf aims to be “a model of inclusivity in our industry”

Immersive art and entertainment company Meow Wolf has announced Gennean Scott as its new chief inclusion officer.

Scott has more than two decades’ experience in advocating for inclusion, diversity, equity and accessibility (IDEA).

“I’m excited to join Meow Wolf, a company that champions creativity, inclusion, equity, and a sense of belonging — values deeply aligned with my own,” she said.

In her new role, Scott plans to cultivate “an environment where diversity fuels our artistic endeavors, ensuring that everyone, employees and guests alike, feels valued and celebrated”.

Scott previously served as chief diversity officer at the Broadway League, a trade association for the Broadway theatre industry. She also previously held positions with Omaha Performing Arts and Omaha School of Music.

“We are delighted to have Gennean join our team at Meow Wolf,” said Jose Tolosa, Meow Wolf’s CEO. “Her remarkable career and passion for the arts make her an invaluable addition to our organization.

“We look forward to her leadership in Meow Wolf’s efforts to be a model of inclusivity in our industry and beyond.”

Scott is joining Meow Wolf’s senior leadership team and will report directly to Tolosa.

Meow Wolf’s expansion across the US

Meow Wolf recently appointed former Disney executive Rebecca Campbell to its board of directors.

“Her extensive background in international media and themed entertainment provides an extraordinary strategic advantage as we build Meow Wolf’s future on a global scale,” said Chris Sobecki, chair of Meow Wolf’s board.

The company is currently expanding across the US. Last year, its fourth permanent exhibition, the Real Unreal, debuted in Grapevine, Texas.

This came after the launch of Meow Wolf’s other installations: Omega Mart at Area15 in Las Vegas, Convergence Station in Denver, Colorado, and the House of Eternal Return in Santa Fe, New Mexico.
